11 days until the race.
I’ve ran on the treadmill every day since my long run on Saturday. This is my longest treadmill streak ever, and I’m getting really bored and tired of it — but there haven’t been many reasonable, above-0 days since then. And I do have a threshold.
The weather is looking to be in the 20s for the few days before the race. It’ll be another 2 days before race day (Feb. 6) will be in the extended forecast.
Can you tell I’m nervous about this?
The good news is that I’m getting better about running on the treadmill. The trick is to get into a rhythm, and not think, “God, running like a mouse on a wheel around all these other people in front of this incredibly boring TV is hell.”
Yeah, still working on that.
It helps to time workouts for the best television. Which is NOT 6-8 p.m. any night of the week. Or apparently prime time on Wednesday nights. There was some show called “Win it in a Minute” on. It was awful. My options were that and cspan.
I’ve run 77 miles in January. I could hypothetically run 100 miles this month, as long as I run 3.25 miles for the next few days and a 10-mile run on Saturday.
I’m going to try, but I will go crazy if the rest of them are indoor miles, for sure.
